my Story
Hi, I’m Renée! Creator and creative here at Gold Collective. Lover of beaches and sunrises, the arts and creatives, light and peace, our beautiful earth, family, and of course - candles.
But believe it or not, I fell into this love of candles quite unexpectedly, making my first candles 4 years ago with my beautiful friend Kelly, in her kitchen. Suffering from debilitating anxiety at the time and recovering from trauma, the hands-on theraputic experience of creating candles brought a peace and calming space to daily life.
As this passion grew, so grew the flame to share the healing of light with others. With a lot of development, and a heart of courage and faith, Gold Collective was born. Today it’s hard to imagine life without candles!
At Gold Collective, it’s my dream that through light and scent, your soul will be nurtured with the peace and tranquility of the beautiful dance of the flame. It’s my vision, that through the daily ritual of candlelight, you can invite peace and harmony to your life, while adding everyday luxury and joy to your home and sanctuary.
In the peaceful gold valleys of Kuaotunu NZ, these eco candles are individually or small batch crafted by my hand and heart, using the finest and innovative ingredients I can source.
With a focus on respect for nature and respect for self and others, I choose to use a creamy, natural, coconut wax blend that is free of palm oil, paraffins, petroleum and genetically modified material, and is biodegradable.
My fragrances are a blend of fragrance and essential oils and are free of phthalates, paraffins, petrochemicals and UV inhibitors.
I choose to use wooden wicks that are sustainably sourced, are natural, glue free and biodegradable.
And every candle is vegan and animal cruelty free, and the aspect of ethical supply is a big deal to me. All our crystals and gemstones are ethically sourced, from their source and through the supply chain, including no child labour.
The magic of a flame has been revered since the dawn of time. Life giving, calming and somewhat primal, the flame continues to captivate our senses, ignite feelings of peace, calm and joy, and enrich our lives.
I fell in love tonight, with the candle flicker dancing, in the moonlight on my old wood table.
